Din wears Mandalorian armor made of beskar steel, and unlike most other Mandalorians, his remains raw silver and unpainted. His armor consists of a helmet, pauldrons, a breastplate, gauntlets, and tassets. Beneath the armor he wears a brown flightsuit that bunches at various places, and has many pockets. His cape is dark grey, tattered at the bottom, and is bunched at his throat and falls over his shoulders. Over the armor, he wears a bandolier with ammunition stocked in it, the same at the top of his boot, and sometimes a satchel. His gloves are partially black, with tan-orange fingers. He has a number of weapons on him at all times, including a blaster, a beskar spear, a jetpack, a vibroblade, and others.
On the rare occasion that he removes his helmet and reveals his face, he has an unexpectedly soft countenance, with curly brown hair and light facial hair. He has a number of scars underneath the armor; some of them clearly cauterized, but none on his face.

Din never forgets his allies and those who have helped him, and he sometimes goes to fairly extreme lengths to help them in return. He often returns to those he considers a friend, and when they ask him for help, he doesn't hesitate. Despite his (metaphorical and literal) hardened exterior, Din is an extraordinarily soft-hearted individual. While he can be ruthless and unforgiving toward criminals, he has a far softer side for the innocent and defenseless, and wound up adopting an entire child because he couldn't stand to see that child be exploited and experimented on. His new life as a father helped him open up to people somewhat, and also earned him a revolving door of people who were thrilled to volunteer as both ride or die fighters and babysitters at the same time. He also functions as a skilled diplomat fairly frequently because of this, bringing reluctant allies together for a common goal.
Though raised in a very community-minded environment, Din Djarin is very much a lone wolf. He was the bounty hunter of his Mandalorian covert, and as such, lived a fairly solitary life most of the time, constantly working. Though habitually polite, he often comes off as stoic and very dismissive, and is seen as mysterious and brooding because of the helmet's blank exterior and his frequent long silences, but the truth is, a lot of it comes down to social awkwardness. He doesn't seem to know how to say no when people insist they do things for him, even when he's basically getting scammed. While Din's single-minded focus and ruthlessness did earn him the title of one of the best bounty hunters in the Guild, it also means that he was willing to kill, and he does so very easily. It's important to note that he has a very rigid moral code about this, though – he's willing to kill people who steal from him, or come after him to take the child from him, or those who commit crimes, but he will defend to the death those who are innocent.

Din was born on a planet called Aq Vetina, and had a relatively ordinary childhood with his mother and father. When he was around 9, separatist Droids invaded and destroyed the city and killed most people within it, including Din's parents. He was rescued by Mandalorians of the Death Watch, an off-shoot branch of the Mandalorian philosophy who were more orthodox in their ways. He was taken to Concordia, the moon of Mandalore, and raised as a foundling in the fighting corp.
By the time the Great Purge of Mandalore happened, Din and his covert were living on the planet Nevarro. Din took up work as a bounty hunter for his covert, returning most of his earnings to the covert and especially the foundlings. As a bounty hunter, he rose to prominence in the years following the fall of the Empire, known simply as 'the Mandalorian', and quickly became known as one of the Bounty Hunters Guild's best hunters.
